Trumpet Lessons: For students who have a flair for music and an interest in brass, the Trumpet is a great instrument to start on provided the student is aged 7 years or older.
Beginner trumpet focuses on creating a sound and becoming comfortable with breathing, embouchure and general technical requirements. Once this is established and a distinct tone is created, different styles can then be explored, like classical, jazz or popular music. The trumpet group contains the instruments with the highest register in the brass family.
Students may prepare for exams once they are ready, and for those who wish to play for pure enjoyment, our recitals throughout the year will provide the opportunity to play in various ensembles and improve your solo style.
Mezzo students have the option to sit graded examinations in clarinet, facilitated by both the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music syllabi. Exams take place during 3 sessions each year; Spring, Summer & Pre-Christmas. Exams are held in Mezzo Music Academy, with an independent adjudicator from the relevant exam board.
We are always happy to work with students who have no desire to complete exams and wish to learn and play the trumpet for pure enjoyment.
