Katie Richardson McCrea Voice Lessons, Piano and Musicianship:

Katie Richardson McCrea, Mezzo-soprano, offers Voice lessons at Mezzo Music Academy as well as piano and Musicianship.

Katie is a graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she was under the tutelage of Lynda Lee and Dearbhla Collins.

Katie began her singing career in choirs; singing in Ireland and internationally with Piccolo Lasso and The Lassus Scholars, and then began her vocal studies at RIAM with Veronica Dunne.

In RIAM productions, Katie played the role of Mopsa in The Fairy Queen (Purcell), The Historian, in the debut of Siobhan Cleary’s ‘Vampirella’, Venus, in Monteverdi’s Il Ballo Delle Ingrate at the Peacock Theatre, and Madge, in ‘Banished’ in Kilmainham Gaol.

In Oratorio and concert, Katie sang Handel’s Messiah with The Dublin Bach singers and Marlborough Baroque Orchestra, Mrs Noah in Benjamin Britten’s Noye Fludde in Dublin and Carlow, and Vivaldi’s Gloria and Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo with Wicklow Choral society, Ina Boyle Gaelic Hymns with The Goethe Choir, and Mozart Spatzen Mass and a newly commissioned piece by Georgia Johnson with Diva Voces.

Katie’s National Concert Hall appearances include Charpientier with Culwick Choral society and excerpts of the Messiah with Dublin Choral Foundation.

In 2020, Katie worked with Irish National Opera in their production of Carmen at The Bord Gaia Energy theatre. Katie also has experience singing in various pop and alternative music groups, and has sang as a soloist at Metropolis, Forbidden Fruit, Electric Picnic, All together now, and Another Love Story.

She makes regular appearances with up and coming ensemble, Glasshouse.
