Glen Carr Trumpet, Trombone Lessons:

Glen Carr began playing the trumpet aged eight years old with his local brass and reed band in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. He quickly excelled, becoming a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland and winning a scholarship to study part time at the Royal Irish Academy of Music with Professor James Cavanagh. He began his Bachelor in Music Performance degree in 2017 studying with Professor Cavanagh and later spent time on Erasmus at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Mark O’Keefe. Glen graduated with first class honours in 2020, he then completed a further year in the Academy studying on the Professional Mentorship programme with Colm Byrne and also working as a teaching assistant to his trumpet class. Glen also holds a Licentiate teaching diploma from the RIAM.

In 2017 Glen toured Europe as a member of the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra. As a freelance trumpeter Glen has worked with numerous Irish ensembles including the RTE National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Ireland, Lyric Opera and Irish National Opera. From 2021 to 2023 Glen was resident trumpet teacher to the Muscat Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra. From 2022 – 2023 in addition to his trumpet teaching duties he was also conductor of the Muscat Royal Philharmonic Sinfonietta Orchestra during which time he spearheaded several education 

and outreach concerts at schools in Muscat.
