Ailbhe Dunne Classical and Acoustic Guitar:

Ailbhe Dunne is a guitarist, bassist and vocalist with the alternative folkpop band Mongoose, offering Classical Guitar and Acoustic Guitar Lessons at Mezzo.

Since 2012 they have released two EPs and two studio albums, and shared stages with the likes of Glen Hansard, Eleanor McEvoy, David Keenan and Carol Keogh.

In 2017 they were Dun Laoghaire- Rathdown’s Musicians in Residence at the Lexicon Library, and performed two of their songs with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra as part of Culture Night. In 2018 Mongoose performed in the theatre project ‘Woman Undone’, a collaboration between singer Mary Coughlan, Brokentalkers, and Icelandic composer Valgeir Sigurdsson, which was nominated for Best Sound in the Irish Times Theatre Awards.

The band have performed at many of the major Irish music festivals (Electric Picnic, Body&Soul, Other Voices, Longitude to name a few) as well as abroad in the UK, France and Tanzania.

Ailbhe received a B.A. in Music from UCD in 2012 and has achieved Grade 8 in classical guitar from Trinity Guildhall, and level 7 in double bass from The Royal Irish Academy of Music. She has played with many musical ensembles including the Dublin Youth Orchestra, the UCD Symphony Orchestra and the RIAM Symphony Orchestra.

She has been a guitar teacher for 10 years and likes to take a relaxed approach in her teaching methods.

She believes that building a good rapport with students is most important, and tailoring her lessons to their individual abilities and personality is key.
